COVID-19 OUTBREAK IN NIGERIA Situation Report

HIGHLIGHTS

 

This is the 29th national situation report, following confirmation of the first case of coronavirus disease
(COVID-19) in Nigeria on 27th February 2020. The data in this report is as at 12 midnight on
28/03/2020
• On the 28th of March 2020, 16 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria
• All new cases were reported from FCT (2), Kaduna (1), Osun (1), Oyo (4), Lagos (7) and Benue
(1) States
• The 97 confirmed cases are in 12 States (Lagos 59, FCT 16, Oyo 7, Ogun 3, Bauchi 2, Edo 2,
Enugu, 2, Osun 2, Benue 1, Ekiti 1, Kaduna 1 and Rivers 1); three (3) cases have been
discharged, 93 currently receiving care and one death from COVID-19 in Nigeria
• The National EOC is working with affected State EOCs to identify contacts of the new confirmed
cases
• A cumulative total of 6,238 passengers of interest (POI) identified, and being monitored
• A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at level 3, continues to
coordinate national response activities
